Create From Within

From The Infinite Way by Joel Goldsmith:

No more will you fear conditions or circumstances seemingly outside of you or beyond your control.  Now you know that all that can transpire in your experience is occurring within your consciousness and, therefore, is subject to its government and control.

It is not that Spirit produces or heals or corrects matter or the physical universe, but that we rise higher in consciousness to where there is less matter and, therefore, less discord, inharmony, disease, or lack.

It may at first appear difficult to achieve the state of consciousness wherein the laws of our inner being come into tangible expression.  We will achieve it, however, in proportion to our ability to relax mentally, to gain an inner calm and peace, and therein quietly contemplate the revelations which come to us from within.

As the realization of our dominion dawns in thought, more assurance, confidence, and certainty become evident.  We become a new being, and the world reflects back to us our own higher attitude toward it.

We can take possession of our affairs only as we consciously realize that they are the effect of our own consciousness, the image and likeness of our own being, the manifestation or expression of our divine Self.

That which we seem to be seeking is ever-present within us, and already manifested, and we need to know this truth.  All good already is, and is forever manifested.  The recognition of this truth is answered prayer.

Intentions vs. State of Being

In 2004, I wrote a very specific and long list of things that I wanted.  Examples included: learning different languages; living in other countries; earning millions of dollars from my writing; being debt-free; working because I want to, not because I have to; practicing and, eventually, teaching yoga; and so on.  Years passed.  One day, I found that list in a forgotten folder.  The only thing that I had fully accomplished was insuring that my mom was well cared for.

In 2012, I participated in a ritual involving angels who would grant three wishes.  I don’t know whether they came or not.  I didn’t feel anything.  Ultimately, I turned those three wishes into three intentions that I read aloud every day, then once per month, then every now and then, and finally not at all.

By the end of 2016, I had obtained a new job.  All other doors were closed and I chose to walk through the one that was open.  Every week, I am provided with many opportunities to grow and to modify my prior ways of reacting and responding.  I’m constantly changing, trying to figure out how to navigate and be a positive, instead of negative, force in a chaotic situation.  I consider this position a bridge to that which I have not yet clarified.

I again wrote down what I want.  This time I felt that I expressed what my spirit, my true self, the real me truly wants.  As I grow and as I’m able to shed layers of distraction, layers of the external me, layers of whatever, I’m reaching my core.  I’m revealing what is.

Intentions point me back to myself.  They are revelations; guideposts enabling me to get close enough to hear the core me crying out, expressing my reality: “This is who I AM.  This IS me.”

My first job had its positive and negatives.  Ultimately, I left because it disappointed me in terms of my consciousness and awareness at the time.  Looking back on all that I’ve been through, I compare it to leaving my parents’ home.  I couldn’t wait until my 18th birthday.  I left days afterward to get away from burdensome rules and limitations.  Much later, I realized how good I had it.

So it was with my first job.  The way that I saw the world at that time was very rigid, very black and white.  Now, the way that I see the world is very fluid, with various shades of all different kinds of colors, not one way or the other.  I realize that there are many different ways of being.

The Center of Your Being

Faith allows thing to happen.  It is the power that comes from a fearless heart.  And when a fearless heart believes, miracles happen.  Unknown

Do not look for happiness outside yourself.  The awakened see happiness inside.  Peter Deunov

People say “Everything happens for a reason.”  That “reason” is to decide what you will do with what you have right now; not what you thought you’d have, not what you were promised but didn’t get, not what you hope to have one day, but what you have right here, right now.  The more you can keep attention on that, the greater the creations within your life will be.  Make the most of every moment.  Doe Zantamata

Ego says: “Once everything falls into place, I’ll feel peace.”  Spirit says: “Find your peace, and then everything will fall into place.”  Marianne Williamson

At the center of your being, you have the answer.  You know who you are and you know what you want.  Lao Tzu

According to Vedanta, there are only two symptoms of enlightenment, just two indications that a transformation is taking place within you toward a higher consciousness.  The first symptom is that you stop worrying.  Things don’t bother you anymore.  You become light-hearted and full of joy.  The second symptom is that you encounter more and more meaningful coincidences in your life, more and more synchronicities.  And this accelerates to the point where you actually experience the miraculous.  Deepak Chopra

Is the Core of Your Being Strong?

Is THIS – whatever you are doing, whoever and whatever you are around – is THIS taking you in the direction that you want to go?  Is THIS moving you towards who and what you want to be and do?

My swim coach pointed out a curve in my back in both my backstroke and freestyle.  In order to move more fluidly, more efficiently through the water, my back needs to be flat like a table.  She suggested that one way to achieve a level back is to hold in my stomach.  It is very challenging to hold in my stomach while I’m swimming.  Another coach suggested that I lie on the floor, notice what muscles are utilized to flatten my back, and transfer that knowledge and feeling to my body position while swimming.  Both coaches advise pelvic tilts, sucking in the gut, and squeezing the glutes.

The purpose of these techniques is to develop a strong core.  If I strengthen my core, it will take less effort to make my back level and my body straight.  If I have correct body position, I move more efficiently through the water.

This is also true in life.  What is your core?  Is your core strong?  Do you value yourself?  Do you think you are worthy?  If you don’t think that you are worthy, then you attract others who think accordingly.  If you don’t respect yourself, you draw into your life disrespect.  If you don’t have a strong core, life is choppy and hard to get through.  It takes much effort to get through each day.

Your unworthiness is reflected in others who also see themselves in you.  You are mirrors for each other.  Some express their reflections by trying to exercise control in order to elevate themselves.   A battle then ensues.  Each combats the self-image they see in the other.  Each attempts to fight or fend off the other when the true “enemy” is the self.  The core needs strengthening.

If you think you are worthy, then you attract people and circumstances that reflect that worthiness, that strength in you.  A person who thinks they are unworthy has to defend, justify, and explain themselves.  Shondra Rhimes said that she used to make excuses for saying no.  “No I can’t because . . .”  Now, she says, “No, I can’t do that right now” and lets that statement stand by itself.  And she keeps repeating it for those who don’t get it.  “I’m sorry.  I can’t do that right now.”  And that’s all that she has to say because she knows that she doesn’t have to justify her decision.  It always comes back to self.  Your self-worth.  What is your value, your strength?
