Going Through Darkness to Get to the Light

Bright Light timothywest

I had been somewhere and I was walking home.  I don’t remember from where I was coming, but I had to walk through a dark area.  The area was an upper-class neighborhood where there weren’t many homes.  Those that were there were mansion-sized, surrounded by lots of land with mostly bushes and trees, so that you couldn’t see the houses.  The landscaping was natural, not landscaped.  Turning left from where I was coming, there were no houses, just raised land with bushes and trees.

I wasn’t afraid to walk down the first block to the left because of the light from where I started.  However, I was to make a right on the street after that first block.  This street was very dark.  I didn’t see any lights.  I walked a ways and turned back because it looked like the kind of street where someone would snatch me.  I wasn’t going to walk down that street by myself.

I walked back to where I started.  No one was there.  Everyone had gone.  I couldn’t get a ride.  I didn’t have a choice.  I had to go ahead and walk alone in the dark.  I had to go forward.

Once I made the choice to go on, I saw a few lights.  It wasn’t going to be total darkness.  There suddenly appeared two men.  One had a dog.  He was in front of me, walking his dog.  The other was in back of me.  They weren’t friendly or unfriendly to me.  They were kind of weird.  I never clearly saw the one in back of me.  I was alert to their presence.  They never said anything to me.  They never bothered me.  While I was going down the dark street, they simply provided a presence – someone walking down that street with me.

I walked down that dark street and made another right onto the street on which was located the house to which I was going.  That street was totally light!  It was totally day!  No darkness.  Just total daylight.  Everything was light and bright.  The guys were still with me, in front and in back, but they just went about their business.  I then went into the house, which was huge.  It was a friendly type of house.  It was the type of house that I would buy if I was really rich.  I had to climb up stairs and through trees and bushes to get to it.  The house was on raised land or a hill.  It had wooden floors and was very airy.  It was a very nice house.  It was on the right hand side of the street.  There were no houses on the left hand side.

The guy in front of me with the dog kept walking past the house.  The street dead ended, but there was a little hill or mound with a path going over it.  The guy in front continued on this path.  I don’t know what happened to the guy in back of me.

I believe this dream was meant to tell me that I would go through darkness to get to the light.
